CASA Certified Drone Training
Wicked Copters is the only CASA-certified drone training organisation approved to the new 2023 Manual of Standards (MOS) to offer up to 25kg Multi Rotor, Aeroplane, Helicopter and Powered Lift drone training. Wicked Copters is also approved by CASA for sub 150 kg (Medium RePL, model specific). We also provide a number of specialised and industry-focused advanced courses.
We have the industry’s best practice instructor-to-student ratios - one instructor to two students in the field for Multi Rotor, and one on one for all other types. As new commercial drone models are increasing in capabilities and weight above 7kg (such as DJI Matrice 350), we recommend you complete a sub 25kg weight class wherever possible for future proofing your skill sets and employer demands.
Medium (sub 150kg) Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) by RPA Model
To operate a medium category RPA (sub 150kg) for commercial purposes, you will need to obtain a Type Rating / Accreditation via a flight test (e.g., DJI Agras T40, T50, T60; XAG V50, P100 Pro, P150; etc) added to your existing RePL Multi Rotor (sub 7kg or 25kg) RePL.
Unlike other medium category drone traing organisations, we own our drones that we train and operate on. This means we can provide custom training dates and we have the most experience to pass onto you
We provide both manufacturer/model specific training and then the flight test. If you are an experienced operator contact us for flight test only.
XAG Agriculture
This uncrewed drone licence RePL training for a sub 150kg TRC XAG Model. Each model you operate will require a model specific TRC.
DJI Agras
This uncrewed drone licence RePL training for a sub 150kg TRC DJI Model. Each model you operate will require a model specific TRC.
Land Owner
Land owners operating a Medium RPA require an RePL for the model flown. However, you do not require an ReOC if operating under SoCs.
Other Medium RPAs
Are you a manufacturer? We are able to add your RPA Model to our Training Approvals to undertake training for your organisation.
You must hold an existing RePL Multi Rotor (sub 7kg or 25kg {do not be fooled, you do not have to have the sub 25kg RePL}), if you do not have one we can provide you with a suitable training bundle.
Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) by RPA Type
This is a five day RePL course for students and includes your Radio Licence (AROC) and English Language Proficiency (ELP). Your RePL allows you to operate drones commercially in the excluded category or under a Remote Operators Certificate (ReOC). You will need to have accreditation to fly the correct type (e.g. Multi Rotor) and category (e.g Small, up to 25kg).
Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) by Pathway
CASA has different pathways to obtain or vary a RePL:
- Flight Crew Licence holders (RPL, PPL, CPL, ATPL, ATC or equivalent) can obtain their RePL without having to complete the full RePL course.
- Existing RePL licence holders can add a new type or upgrade the category of their existing licence.
- The full RePL course applies to those with no Flight Crew Licence or existing RePL.
Initial Issue
Obtain your initial Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) with no manned aviation experience or existing RePL.
